Project #3

After doing my previous projects on dreams, I decided to take this next one in the opposite direction. Instead of elaborate dream-like scenarios I'm going to depict real-life day to day occurrences. I wasn't exactly sure where to start so I started to think of basic things we use everyday--I settled on my kitchen table. Like my last project, I am using others' experiences (along with mine) for my inspiration. I talked with my old roommate (who is the one who handed the table down to me) and heard plenty of interesting stories about this table's past life and owners. Since the table has been passed through different people and homes and has received a few makeovers here and there, I thought it would be neat to depict its "life" in some way or another. I think it will be interesting to see some of the bizarre moments the table has witnessed in the form of drawings. Inanimate objects don't have a way to share their stories, so I'm going to do it instead. This will be an interesting/humorous project I'm sure...
